British, Dutch and Qatari WorldSBK rounds cancelled
Despite the very best efforts of all involved, three rounds have been cancelled as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

After extensive discussions and the assessment of a multitude of possibilities and scenarios, the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) and Dorna WSBK Organization (DWO regret to announce the cancellation of three events that were previously to be determined (TBD) and to be confirmed (TBC). The safety of all parties within the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship paddock is of top priority and whilst the season is carrying on, a solution was not possible to incorporate every venue, given the challenge of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The UK Round at Donington Park (previously postponed and TBD), the Dutch Round at the TT Circuit Assen (previously rescheduled, then postponed and TBD) and the Qatar Round at the Losail International Circuit (previously postponed and TBD) have been cancelled. It will be the first time in WorldSBK history that there won’t be a round in the United Kingdom, whilst the TT Circuit Assen has been a permanent fixture on the calendar since 1992, ending a streak of the longest continually serving venue in WorldSBK.

The 2020 Championship will now follow the latest planned schedule and any further updates will be communicated accordingly in due course.

The ongoing Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic continues to have its impact on the 2020 FIM Calendars.

With the MXGP of Lombardia now to be held in Mantova on 4 October and in order to avoid extra travel for the riders and teams, XIEM; the FIM and FIM Europe have been forced to modify the date of the S1GP Grand Prix of Europe which was scheduled to run on the same date. The three rounds of the series are now as follows.

Please find enclosed the Press Release / FIM Speedway Grand Prix Qualifications 2020 calendar UPDATE 20 July.

Originally scheduled to take place in Zarnovica, Slovakia on a date yet to be confirmed, the 2020 FIM Speedway Grand Prix Challenge will now be held at a new venue due to ongoing restrictions relating to the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic prohibiting the event going ahead as was initially planned.

As such the FIM is pleased to announce that with the support of the Croatian Motorcycling Federation (HMS) the 2020 event will now take place in Gorican, Croatia on 22 August 2020.

The event will include sixteen nations comprising of fifteen nations plus a host national federation wild card and reserves. Each of the national federations will be requested to nominate a rider.

The top three classified riders from the 2020 FIM Speedway Grand Prix Challenge will qualify for the 2021 FIM Speedway Grand Prix World Championship.

To all the MotoGP™ Family,

The Covid-19 pandemic is and has been one of the biggest challenges our sport has faced. Very soon it will be time to get back on track with two consecutive GPs in Jerez, and we are very excited for the restart of our sport.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every single member of the MotoGP™ family, including manufacturers, teams, riders, officials, circuits, marshals, volunteers, broadcasters, journalists, photographers, sponsors, partners, service companies and organization staff for their incredible efforts during this difficult time, and for the hard work put in by so many to make it possible for us to go racing again.

After a lot of hard work and effort, in conjunction with authorities we have been able to produce an accepted protocol for events with the aim of minimising the risks of infection. We must take this opportunity to remind everyone of the importance of the safety measures and medical procedures in place that enable us to get back on track.

Before we arrive at the Circuito de Jerez-Angel Nieto, we remind everyone that once you have been tested, each member of the paddock must self-isolate as much as possible and avoid all unnecessary contact with others until such time as we arrive at the circuit.

When we are at the circuit, the race weekend and the paddock will look different, as our comprehensive medical protocol ensures the highest safety standards for everyone present at the event.It is essential that all confinement rules are followed strictly, and all participants must only go to the circuit and hotel.

We will be missing many members of the paddock, and we’re grateful for their work from a distance, and of course, for now we will unfortunately also be missing all our fans in the grandstands.

This medical protocol must be read and followed to the letter, inside and outside the circuit. Any breaches of the medical protocol will be taken extremely seriously and immediately acted upon by the organiser.

The health of all members of the paddock is our top priority, and we thank you for your cooperation in ensuring we can get back on track safely for another incredible weekend – and season – of racing.

Every single participant is responsible for the future of our sport.

24 Heures Motos revs up
The 43rd edition of the 24 Heures Motos is back on track. The entry list has now been released. A reduced field will go out on track for a closed-door race on 29 and 30 August.

After being rescheduled for the end of August due to the global health crisis, the 24 Heures Motos is revving up for action once again. 43 teams will be at Le Mans to start practice sessions for the 43rd edition on the Bugatti circuit on Wednesday 26 August.

Despite a smaller grid, we can expect action-packed racing. All the top teams will be there with new rider line-ups and/or equipment.
Suzuki Endurance Racing Team, the provisional leaders of the championship standings, will have Belgian rider Xavier Simeon partnering Gregg Black and Etienne Masson for the first time.

BMW Motorrad World Endurance – second in the provisional standings in their first season – also have an impressive line-up comprising Kenny Foray, Ilya Mikhalchik and Markus Reiterberger.

Wójcik Racing Team, who made a splash at the Bol d’Or, have a reinforced their line-up, with Australian rider Broc Parkes in the saddle of the Yamaha 77 alongside Gino Rea and Axel Maurin.

Having climbed back up to 4th place in the standings following their win at Sepang, YART Yamaha are fielding Marvin Fritz, Niccolò Canepa and Karel Hanika.

Although reigning champions Webike SRC Kawasaki France Trickstar are lagging behind in the standings, they will fight to make up for lost time with riders Jérémy Guarnoni, Erwan Nigon and David Checa and their new tyre supplier Michelin.

The 2017-2018 FIM EWC title winners F.C.C. TSR Honda France are counting on their new CBR1000RR-R to get them into the Top 5 with riders Josh Hook, Freddy Foray and Mike di Meglio.

Meanwhile, Team ERC Endurance will once again have Randy de Puniet shoring up Louis Rossi and Julien da Costa on the factory Ducati Panigale V4R (also Michelin-equipped).

The top teams in the Superstock class will be on the track as well, starting with Moto Ain, winners of last season’s FIM Endurance World Cup and current leaders in class after back-to-back wins at the Bol d’Or and the 8 Hours of Sepang.
