CAN SELLER MAKE IT SEVEN?

Clint Seller (King Price Xtreme Yamaha R1) heads to Port Elizabeth’s Aldo Scribante Racetrack needing just a second-place finish in either of the two races to be held on Saturday, 31 October to claim his seventh South African title. The NGK Spark Plugs SA Superbike Series supported by Bridgestone championship leader holds a 30-point advantage over closest rival David McFadden (RPM Center/Stunt SA/Lights by Linea Yamaha R1), whose championship challenge was blunted by the recurrence of an old nerve injury at the last round.

While McFadden is the only rider who can prevent Seller taking the championship, Garrick Vlok (DCCS Coring, Cutting and Sealing Yamaha R1), who took his first national SuperBike win at Red Star Raceway last time out, will be a serious contender for victory on the day.

In the SuperSport 600 category, Ricardo Otto (RAW Projects Yamaha R6) wrapped up the championship last time our. Otto, who hails from George, has spent a lot of his racing career at Aldo Scribante and must start as the favourite to add to his tally of wins although both Dino Iozzo (King Price Extreme Yamaha R6) and Brett Roberts (Lights by Linea/PRM Center Yamaha R6) will be doing their best to stop him.

Ian Thomas (SA Compressor Hire Kawasaki ZX10R) and Sifiso Themba (King Price Extreme Kawasaki ZX10R) will resume their battle in the Bridgestone Superbike class with Capetonian Lubabalo Ntisana joining them on a similar LB Auto supported Kawasaki ZX10R. Nicole van Aswegen (Gem Auto/Andalaft Ducati 1299) and Damian Purificati (Andalaft Racing/Amalgam BMW S1000RR) could also make the trip down to the friendly city.

Friday will be dedicated to practice and qualifying sessions with two 12-lap races on Saturday. The first of those will start at 12h00 with the second scheduled for 14h00.

Unfortunately, due to the government’s Covid-19 restrictions, no spectators will be admitted to the Aldo Scribante Circuit for the event, however, the event will be live-streamed. Details will be made available on the SA SuperBike Facebook page
