UPCOMING FIM MEDICAL TRAINING AND CMI SEMINAR IN DECEMBER – REGISTRATION NOW OPEN

The Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM), in collaboration with regional partners, is pleased to announce the On-Track Medical Training and FIM Chief Medical Officer (CMI) Seminar, scheduled for 12 to 14 December 2025 in Kenya.

These sessions will strengthen medical preparedness and event safety across the sport, with a strong focus on practical, technical, and procedural skills essential to trackside medical teams.

WHAT THE TRAINING WILL COVER

ON-TRACK MEDICAL TRAINING WILL INCLUDE:

  • Minimum medical requirements
  • Ground post setup
  • Safe rider removal from the track, including use of scoop stretchers and spinal boards
  • Helmet removal procedures
  • Collaboration with marshals

FIM CMI SEMINAR WILL INCLUDE:

  • The learning objectives of a standard FIM Chief Medical Officer Seminar
  • Both sessions will also support broader safety objectives:
    • Serious Injury and Fatality (SIF) surveillance
    • Rider Incident Reporting protocols

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

  • Event CMOs, deputy CMOs, and trackside medical personnel
  • Paramedics and doctors working at national and international motorcycle sport events
  • Medical coordinators, medical car teams, and ground post teams

DATES AND SCHEDULE

  • On-Track Medical Training: 12 to 13 December 2025
  • FIM CMI Seminar: 14 December 2025 (only for Medical Doctors)

REGISTRATION AND LICENCING

  • To register for the CMI Seminar (only for medical doctors): Doctors who wish to participate must be registered by their FMN on the FIM extranet.
    • Participant status: If registered as participants, a licence will be issued upon successful completion.
    • Observer status: If registered as observers, no licence will be issued.

DEADLINES FOR REGISTRATION:

The deadline for registration for the FIM Medical Training and CMI Seminar is 10 November 2025.

PRE-REQUISITE AND CERTIFICATION

  • Pre-requisite: All participants must complete the FIM medical e-learning modules before attending the seminar and training.
  • Certification: Participants in the On-Track Medical Training will receive an electronic certificate of participation.

SIF SURVEILLANCE DISCUSSION

If you would like to confirm your availability for a short SIF surveillance discussion during the weekend, please indicate this when you register.
