HIGH HOPES FOR HUSQVARNA RACING AHEAD OF ROUND FIVE OF NATIONAL CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP

The Husqvarna Racing team has reason to have high hopes going into the fifth round of the National Cross Country Championship this weekend following a fantastic show at the previous round in Zorgvliet.

According to Grant Frerichs, Group Marketing Manager South Africa, the excitement is tangible in the team. He said “It is awesome to go racing in the situation we are in with the Husqvarna racing team with Michael Docherty being the man to beat after his phenomenal race the last time out and Brett Swanepoel currently holding the red plate in the OR2 class and leading the overall championship. We are excited to see what the 2 boys can do after their 1-2 results the last time out! “

Dark horse coming late into the championship and now the proverbial cat amongst the pigeons, Michael Docherty will look for a repeat performance now he’s found his legs in the foreign format. “I’m excited to try my hand at another Cross Country National now that I fully understand the format and race structure, I’ve really been putting in a lot of work in the gym as well as long Motocross motos so I’m feeling really strong for the weekend and hope to put my Husky up front again” he commented.

Championship leader and Husqvarna stalwart, Brett Swanepoel, was optimistic going into the second last round of the season saying: “I’m ready for another good weekend on the Cross Country bike, it’s coming to the end of the season and we want to gain maximum points towards the championship to ensure a shot at class and overall honours because I want that #1 plate back for next year.”
