The second day of the Motocross Championship took place on November 16, 2025 at Lac Rose (QG), in an emotionally charged atmosphere. Dedicated to the memory of Alain Verpoest, former race director and technical director of the club, the day paid a vibrant tribute to the one who worked so hard for the development of Senegalese motocross. Between sports performances, spectacular falls and moments of contemplation, this event will have marked the riders as well as the spectators.
Solid performance in all categories
The Junior category offered a rhythmic and contested race with an Imperial Cheikh Soumaré.
1st : Cheikh Soumaré
2nd : Ethan Lopez
3rd : Saere Diop
Sheikh Soumaré confirms his rise in power and wins with mastery. Ethan Lopez and Saere Diop complete the podium after a fight that is both clean and engaged.
Despite a more limited number of participants than usual, the Open delivered beautiful piloting sequences.

2nd : Moussa Arzouni
3rd : Saliou Dème
Serigne Mbacké Mar confirms his status as a favorite by mastering the race from beginning to end. Behind him, Moussa Arzouni delivered a good performance despite a fall without gravity, managing to keep his second place. Saliou Dème completes the podium with regularity.
Among the youngest (Minime), the day highlighted a very promising trio including one that imposes his talent

2nd : Babacar Thioune
3rd : ONA Colombo
Louic Mauny confirms his excellent start to the season thanks to a smooth and controlled race. Babacar Thioune and ONA Colombo fought to the end to stay in the rhythm.
Highlights of race: falls and abandonments
If the day was beautiful, it was also marked by several incidents:
Idy Ba, who fell early in the first inning, had to give up. he hurt his shoulder, he could not resume the competition.
Karim Arzouni, who fell in the second round, suffered from wrist pain. He was also forced to leave the test.
Moussa Arzouni, despite a fall, was able to start again and finish in a solid second place in his category.
Issa, also fallen, was able to resume the race without serious consequence.
These incidents remind us how motocross remains a demanding sport where the least error can be costly.
The Alain Verpoest Trophy: a symbolic victory for Issa Bequet
The highlight of the day was the presentation of the Alain Verpoest Trophy, symbol of the legacy left by this passionate man. The trophy was won by Issa Bequet, a 125-Open rider, the favorite category of the late Alain Verpoest.
A wink loaded with meaning, greeted by the public and the members of the club.
A successful tribute and a season that promises to be promising
Between emotion, sport and recollection, this second round at Lac Rose will remain in the memories.
Despite some falls and abandonments, the organisation has achieved a beautiful day of tribute, faithful to the spirit of sharing and passion of Alain Verpoest.
