GIFT SSEBUGUZI AWAITS TITLE CROWNING.

WITH two rounds left to the climax of the 2024 National Motocross Championship, Malcon Gift Ssebuguzi Tabula only awaits to be crowned the MX125 champion as he overscores against other competitors in his class.

The 2023 MX85 African Motocross Champion, who is currently on tip top form has won four of six rounds so far, has managed to bag 320 points, 123 points against second placed Daniel Mutima, and 164 points adrift third placed Ron Young, who can’t displace him from first position even if he missed out at last two rounds.

This gives Ssebuguzi enough time to plan better for big continental stage racing, the 2024 FIM Motocross of African Nations set to be held in Marrakech, Morocco 25-27 October,2024.

As Ssebuguzi is in wait for crowning, there’s a cut throat competition in junior categories including MX50 Jnr, MX50 ladies, main MX50 and ladies, 65, and MX85 who battling it to the last round.

The junior competitive classes have Israel Mpuga commanding the MX50 junior, Ariella Katenda leading MX50 ladies, Jude Kyle Musedde who has registered four wins in MX50 Senior having missed round 5 due to an injury he picked during training.

Jude Kyle Musedde recovered from an injury, is back to his tighten grips on title with 44 points separating him against Abigail Katende and 58 against Hellen Birungi.

Ready to write the history of Motocross in Uganda with multiple title celebrations this year, is the 10-year-old rider Jonathan Katende: who is shooting at three titles including Enduro, MX65, both in Uganda and at our neighbors, Kenya.

The St. Francis Junior School, Buddo learner leads the local MX65 category with 306 points, also the Kenyan championship with 214points, a point difference against homeboy, Kigen Mutuma.

The out of cockpit buddies had tied at second round at 176 points each, are now left with three rounds to tussle it out for the title.

Jerome Mubiru commands the MX85(Lites) with 333points, Ethan Jassa Katek second with 299 and Ally Kimera having 252 points respectively.

Waleed Ali Omar leads the MX2 with 291, followed by Sharifah Kateete in second place, who also leads MX2 Ladies category with 300 points. As Isma Mukiibi having 267 points, is yet to settle it out with Fortune Ssentamu and Ashim Sserwadda with whom they are competing for top glory in MX1.

Ssentamu has won all the four races he has competed in, having missed the first round, MX6 round, and scores are highly on him if he competes in last two races.  

The penultimate round is set for 15 September,2024 at E-Villas, Kalisizo, As Uganda is set to have a representation 45 riders at the forthcoming African Championship in Morocco.
