Honda dreaming of KZN Cross County racing success

Sleepover Tork Craft CIT Racing plans to wrap Honda’s Trademore SA Cross Country comeback season in style at the Virginia Trails National finale in KwaZulu Natal on Saturday 15 October. Honda may have only returned to Cross Country racing this year, but it has already painted the town red and certainly plans to continue that way this weekend.

Team Red stormed to its maiden open class victory since Honda’s comeback, when Gareth Cole and Sleepover Tork Craft CIT Honda CRF 450 RX teammate Hayden Louw ended first and third in the previous Cape National. Louw and Cole head out onto the Virginia Trails second and third behind CIT Tork Craft rider Mike Pentecost in that title chase. There remains a long shot of either of the Honda men toppling their rival in KZN.

Sleepover Tork Craft CIT Honda Racing will also be back in action and looking for quarter-litre class vengeance in the 250cc OR3 class in KZN. Haydn Cole making his return aboard his Red Rocket CRF 250 RX after breaking a collarbone earlier in the season. He’s backed by lady rider Leah Heygate, who has shone against the OR3 class boys with excellent finishes every round so far, to sit well within this season’s championship top ten.

“Our Red Rockets are locked and loaded and ready for Virginia Trails,” Sleepover Tork Craft CIT Honda team boss Harry Grobler explained. “We are excited about wrapping our comeback season up with a home soil advantage. “We look forward to the lads and our lady in red fighting up front in their classes aboard our Sleepover Tork Craft CIT Hondas lubricated by Tork Craft Motul, on Michelin tyres and prepared using the finest Tork Craft Tools. “Red is right back in style, let’s do this!”
