INFORMATION – FIM SIDECAR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP – 2020 CALENDAR, UPDATE 07 APRIL

Please find enclosed the Press Release / FIM Sidecar World Championship 2020 Calendar, UPDATE 07 APRIL.

With the ongoing impact internationally due to the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, the FIM and RKB-F1/Santander Salt Ltd organisational team are working determinedly behind the scenes in order to do their absolute best to deliver the promised new-look FIM Sidecar World Championship.

Due to the current situation, the 2020 calendar has to be revised taking into account that any races rescheduled later in the year will seriously compress all the dates, and place enormous pressure on the teams and organisers. For this reason, and with the support of the Dutch Motorcycling Federation (KMNV), a decision has been made to cancel the event originally set to take place on 17-20 September in Assen, the Netherlands. This means that the list of scheduled rounds has now been reduced to seven.

As the situation relating to the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic remains in a state of constant evolution, we will continue to monitor and communicate in a timely manner if further schedule changes are required.
